Why I love Managing Associations

I find this type of work to be incredibly interesting and rewarding. While every association has a different story to tell, the commonalities of serving Boards, Staff, Membership, Partners is thrilling, exciting, and important. It's reminiscent of the show "Quantum Leap" when the lead character gets tossed into some other life and needs to solve any number of situations. I Quantum Leap into new territories that I never thought were possible. For example, 15 years ago, I found myself in Hanoi (Vietnam) organizing a conference for International Managerial Accountants. This was not on my career BINGO card when I graduated college. Chances are, I will not be an expert in the livelihoods I represent. The thrill is taking the skills as an administrator, organizer, cultivator, caretaker and applying it into many spectrums.

I live to serve. The satisfaction and gratification I get is creating a space where members can comfortably feel that their membership cost matches the service they receive. I liken myself to the concierge to elevating professions. Whether it's a needed educational platform, networking with an industry partner, running a viable event, it all matters. Memberships Matter. I love what I do.
